Botto Bistro in Richmond

Went here for lunch the first time; pizza was delicious and I loved the 'fake' titles in the menu everywhere, but what disappointed me were the price for custom toppings, and how thick the pizza was for an Italian pizza.

I can't believe it's taken me so long to come to this restaurant! The food was exceptionally good and with so much flavor. The service was friendly and attentive. I can't wait to try everything on their menu.

I have to admit that the pasta was way too long, so 1 star :D

Great food in a fun atmosphere.

I went here with a friend expecting nothing and was pleasantly surprised. The eggplant Parmesan was very good as was the panini & arugula salad. There is no table service and very little atmosphere overall, but the food more than compensates. They do have take-out food which would probably be a better option than “dining in”. The pizza gets great reviews but I didn’t try it. A lot of humor is used in their publicity as they tout “worst service”, “worst food”, etc. I’d go back for a casual lunch or take-out.

Customer service has been decreasing steadily over the past 5 years. The only reason to go is for calzone. Lots of attitude from staff. Frequently angry at the customer for bothering them. Foods good but not worth dealing with jerkiness. This last time I called they would only let me order on the phone with a credit card? I canceled the other and will never buy anything from them again.

Excellent grub. Casual vibe, friendly proprietors. Bring cash, and plenty of it. Not a 1st date place.

Super casual, but haute styles. We went here based on the tripadvisor reviews. I am a chef/restaurateur, Italian chef at that...And this place delivered. From the chilled bottled water to the simple roasted potatoes, it was all ON POINT. We had the chicken roll...fantastic. I have never had Marsala with cheese like that. Totally authentic, and fun...reminded us of our Italian honeymoon in Tuscany.

I should've rated them a one star (go there and you'll get it ;) ) however the food was fabulous and chef Davide is amazing. Love his quirky charm, true Toscano! My husband and I took a cooking class and it was fantastic. I highly recommend!!

Fresh and piping hot. I only wish the sauce was a bit zestier.

Very elegant and convenient restaurant. They provide large meals and for fair rates. We liked the meals very much and the staff members were very welcoming and chatty. Highly recommended.

I came here after reading The Hustle article. A star for the star! I hope to visit here one day to try the food. Are you reading this Yelp? LOL!(I'll change this to a 5 star if you want, just let me know)

Spent $18 on spaghetti that was watery and inedible. Threw it in the trash. I think their plan to rack up bad reviews backfired. The last time I called their phone was disconnected, and when I drove up there the place was bone dry. They are never busy. It seems more people would rather eat Quiznos than at this place. If you're going to be rude and snotty towards customers, at least be able to deliver on the food. Especially with their prices, thoroughly disappointed and will never recommend this place.

I do not know how anyone could rate this anything less than 5 stars. The pizza crust here is the best I had. It beats or at least stands toe to toe with any New York pizzeria. I had the pepperoni it was delicious. If you want quality you have to pay for it and I gladly paid $19 bucks for a small pizza.

I have never been to this restaurant. I live on another continent and will probably never be within twenty miles of this fine establishment. If that doesn't qualify me to give this one star review I'm not sure what does...!

My pizza looked sloppy and tasted watery in the middle. It had no flavor and the pepper flakes and parmesan didnt even help. Its absolutely nasty and not worth what I paid for it. Unnecessarily expensive. I thought I would go back and get 50% off my next visit, but its not worth the money or torture of my taste buds nor the well being of my stomach. I wish I could give a 0 rating.

Probably the best unpretentious Italian restaurant in West Contra Costa County - but you won't know if from their Yelp! ratings!They're kind of at war with Yelp. Fed up with high pressure contacts from Yelp to help "promote" their restaurant, the owners have an active campaign to be the worst rated restaurant on Yelp! They encourage you to rate them with only 1 star on Yelp. Go look! Many of the one star reviews - including my own - are tongue in cheek "reviews" that make an entertaining read.

I ordered a plate of spaghetti and marinara sauce ( which was really watery), it was not a full plate, medium at best. A few pieces of chicken with nothing else... no bread. Oh, free cold water... Charged me $23.00! no Tax. With the option to include a tip! I have a tip for this place... your in Richmond! Hello!... good food... but the prices with turn your stomach.

The food is consistently fresh and yummy, employees hands over awesome service. I love how neat it is and atmosphere. Keep up the good work.

The text on the boards might look unfriendly at first but don't worry. Once you look at the menu you'll realize they are being funny. The people are nice and the food is great.

This place has the best pepperoni pizza I have ever eaten. You will not be disappointed.

I stumbled onto this bistro when an accident blocked Cutting Road and I needed to kill some time. Very casual. Order at the counter, grab your beverage, and take one of the ten tables. They bring your meal to your table. There was only one other party present when I went in. There are lots of interesting menu items but a special--lamb burger with carmelized onions--spoke to me. It was delicious, as were the fresh fries. The accompanying salad was good but a little heavy on dressing. A draft beer--Boont Amber--went well with my meal. It was one of the better Ambers that I have tried. I would definitely return. The one oddity was needing to request a key for the restrooms. They are reserved for patrons but located at the back of the restaurant so there should not be an issue with noncustomers trying to use them.

We attend Botto Bistro's monthly cooking demonstration. The chef is entertaining and the food incredible.

after shopping for 2 hours, we are starving. new to the area, we were skeptical. went in and the place was huge. furthermore, it was packed so that is a good sign. we had combo plus spring rolls. tasty soup....good portion.

Amazing Place. Nice name. One star.

Pretty bad overall. Pizza as can be seen below had flour all over it. Ended up just eating the toppings. You pay upfront so no going back. Service is pick up and eat. Sauce was out since needed something for the bland pizza and was told that's all they have. Would not recommend to dine in, looks more take out.

The owner wants 1 star, but this place is great! Homemade, fresh, authentic Italian. I had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Awesome. Will definitely be back!

Great place to eat some food when in a rush. The customer service is prompt, rates are reasonable, awesome atmosphere. I highly recommend this spot.

Yelp aside, this place is great. I love the guts it takes, as a small business owner myself, to go against a giant like Yelp. Continue the good fight, and I hope all of your endeavors are successful, for years to come.

I wonder if they will honor my 50% off pizza if I put a 1 star review on Google Reviews as well hehe. What a find! A small quaint Italian eatery nestled in a strip mall. Their meatballs were tender and full of flavor. I am also trying to stay away from carbs (oh so hard at a Italian restaurant) but opted for the side spinach as well which was cooked to perfection. I also saw that they offer cooking classes (a majority of them looked sold out). I will definitely be coming back again!

Attitude. High price. Pick up your food and be happy that they give it to you. Food was great. Prices heh. I think they are marketing themselves as rebels against yelp. A good thing no doubt. But lose the attitude to real customers. Your almost out in the middle of nowhere. I know of a few more places I would give my custom to. Sorry never again.

Great "Express Meal" for a good price.

We stumbled upon this restaurant and were fortunate to get in as reservations seem to be necessary even on a Monday. The food was exquisitely prepared and plated, a pleasure for sight, smell and taste. The restaurant is small, but the sound level is low and the decor is warm and welcoming. The service was attentive, but not overbearing.

Food is good. Price is high

Food was good. Funny menus. They have tables to eat in but you order at a counter. No waitresses. A little on the pricey wise for cost. Be prepared.

Critical: Professionalism, Valueover hyped (and waaaay over priced) and the owner is a real big meanie. I'd rather eat mountain mike's or something.

Beside your beer is so cold ( hurt my fake teeth ) instead must be hot ! I complaint about your palatable pizza is quite hot too ! Do you know how to make a cold pizza ? I will be back one more time on my business trip to see you change the way you cook authentic Italian foods !
